The name of this organization is the Trumbull Council of the Parent-Teacher Association of the Connecticut Parent-Teacher Association (CT PTA), a branch of the National Congress of Parents and Teachers (National PTA).

The Executive Board

The government of this Council shall be, with the advice and consent of the body, vested in the Executive Board, which shall consist of the officers, the immediate past president,  the president of each member unit or his/her representative and the superintendent of  schools or his/her representative.

PTA Council Executive Board Quorum

A simple majority of the executive board shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business of the executive board.

The Voting Body of  PTA Council

The voting body of this council shall consist of the officers, the President of each member unit, the Principal of each member unit, four duly elected delegates from each member unit or their alternates (refer to unit bylaws), the chairpersons of all standing committees and the Superintendent of schools or his/her representative.

Each position is entitled to one vote regardless of circumstances of existing co-chairpersons.  Members are entitled to one vote even though they may be in more than one position.  The estimated number of votes at a general meeting is:

  • 7 Council officers, 12 standing committee chairs of Council, 6 delegates per member unit (54 school votes), and 1 superintendent of schools = 74 votes

PTA Council General Meeting Quorum

A quorum for the transaction of business in any meeting of the Council PTA shall consist of at least one (1) delegate from a majority of the member PTA’s and a majority of the officers of this Council PTA.
